J. Kevin Thompson brings 36 years of legal experience to Silvera Deary Ray with ample first-chair trial experience at the state and federal court levels and over five hundred workers' compensation administrative trials. Since 1987, Mr. Thompson has focused his practice on workers' compensation and non-subscriber defense, automobile liability claims, construction claims, premises liability, contract claims, and insurance coverage litigation. 

Kevin started his career at Cowles Thompson then moved to Bishop and Hummert where he practiced law with Darryl Silvera and Robert Turner. Kevin worked with The Silvera Firm from 2010 – 2017 and then accepted an opportunity to join an out of state law firm opening a Dallas office. Kevin was most recently a partner at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer where he handled workers compensation, personal injury defense and employment law.

He has attained the highest peer review rating of AV-Preeminent from Martindale Hubbell Law Directory which he has held consecutively since 2002.

Mr. Thompson received his Juris Doctor from SMU School of Law in Dallas, Texas in 1987 and Bachelor of Arts from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in 1984.

Mr. Thompson is licensed to practice law in Texas and is admitted in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas; and The Bar Association of the 5th Federal Circuit. He has received a 10-hour OSHA Certification from the Department of Labor.

Mr. Thompson served as editor of the Worker's Compensation Newsletter for the Texas Association of Defense Counsel from 2003-2007. He is a frequent lecturer and speaker at professional organizations and has made several in-house presentations for insurance clients and third-party administrators for continuing education credits.
